Walking into Chez Loma Restaurant is like coming home. Due in part to the name, which partially means 'at the house of' in French, and in part to its location within the historical Carey-Hizar House, the restaurant provides a charming, intimate atmosphere for customers.

The old fashioned has come a long way since its inception. The term old fashioned did not refer to a specific cocktail but rather a mixology style. To serve any spirit "old fashioned," one simply adds sugar, water, and bitters. Over time rye whiskey became the most popular spirit associated with this preparation, and the name stuck.

Any San Diego visitor can ride the ferry to Coronado Island and stroll the grounds of the Hotel del Coronado, a beachfront bastion of Victorian grandeur. You can also spend the night in one of 400 rooms beneath its red-shingled roof and towering cupolas, or dine in one of its eight restaurants.
